When and How You Get Paid

Updated

Payment reaches your bank in two steps, and it helps to know which one you are waiting on:

  1. Dwelling Blocks to Stripe — as soon as the assignment completes.
  2. Stripe to your bank account — usually 2–3 business days after that.

This only works once your bank account is connected. See Connecting Your Bank Account To Get Paid.

Step 1: the transfer to Stripe

When you complete an assignment, your fee is transferred to your connected Stripe account right away, and you receive an email confirming it.

If you did not get that email

Open the assignment and check the Fees tab:

  • A Transfer Receipt should be attached, and available to download.
  • No fee should be showing as Pending.

If the vendor fee is still Pending, reach out to the lender — add a note on the assignment and mark it Urgent. See Notes: Messaging the Lender.

Assignment Fees explains the breakdown you see on that tab, and what each fee type means.

Step 2: the payout to your bank

After 2–3 business days, Stripe pays out from your Stripe balance to the bank account you connected.

It can take longer than that:

  • Bank holidays push the payout out by however many days the banks are closed.
  • Some banks are slower to post incoming transfers than others, regardless of when Stripe sends the money.

Stripe is the only payout method Dwelling Blocks supports — there is no alternative to set up.

If the money is sitting in Stripe

If transfers have arrived in Stripe but nothing is reaching your bank, Stripe is usually waiting on something from you. Log in to your Stripe account and look for alerts or required actions — an unverified detail or a missing document will hold payouts until it is resolved.

Stripe Support (support@stripe.com) can help with anything in that account. This is different from a payout Stripe has already sent that has not appeared yet, which is a question for your bank.

Checking on it yourself

You have two places to look:

  • In Dwelling Blocks, your company Payout History page lists your payouts and can export a detailed report.
  • In Stripe, your Stripe dashboard shows every transfer that has come in, its status, and every payout Stripe has made to your bank.

Stripe also handles your tax forms — see Get Your Dwelling Blocks 1099 Tax Forms from Stripe.
