When an Assignment Will Not Close

Updated

Sometimes the work is done — the report is written and uploaded — but the assignment stays open in Dwelling Blocks and payment has not been released.

What has usually happened

The final report submission failed, most often on a GSE error, and a successful upload is required before the order can close. Until that happens the assignment remains active no matter how many times the report has been uploaded on your side.

What to do

Ask the lender to finish it manually:

  1. Open the assignment and add a note, marked Urgent — see Notes: Messaging the Lender.
  2. Ask the lender to review your manual submission request and upload the final report and the SSR files to the Dwelling Blocks order.

If you have not made a manual submission request yet, do that first: see Request Manual Report Submission.

Why we cannot do it for you

Dwelling Blocks does not have access to the report or the submission, and cannot modify a submission or close an order without a successful upload. The lender is the only party who can complete it from here.

Once it is done

When the lender uploads the report and SSR files, the assignment shows as completed and payment is released. See When and How You Get Paid for what happens after that.
